PARENT INVOLVEMENT
The mission of the parent support group also known as Rancho Encinitas Academy League (REAL) is to actively promote a strong REA school community that contributes positively to the educational environment for all students in grades K through 8. The focus of this group is to bring parents and children together so that this cohesiveness can benefit everyone in the REA/Edison community.
Opportunities for parent involvement are offered several times during the school year. Parents participate in social activities such as family picnics, dining out, and Teacher Appreciation luncheons. The parent group also produces an annual calendar displaying the art work of the children at the school. An exciting newsletter is published every Spring and Fall showcasing activities on campus that are both educational and social. The parent group also provides for a Yearbook featuring the work of different students and classrooms. Some of the direct benefits to the students at the school are in the form of technology, playground equipment and other environmental enhancements.
Students have opportunities to give back to the community and to those less fortunate than themselves by making care packages for families that are deployed, sending letters, feeding the hungry, meal preparation, raising funds for Heifer International, an organization dedicated to ending hunger and for caring for the Earth. The community outreach programs instill in children the importance of giving back and being actively involved in their community.
All parents at REA/Edison are encouraged to attend monthly meetings, and volunteers are needed to fulfill the many projects that the parent group is involved in. Please join the parent group and enjoy the camaraderie, build friendships and be a part of the school family!
